Accrual review

A staging step where computed accruals are examined and approved before they post to the ledger.

Automation without a review gate is how a rule error becomes a restatement. Accrual review puts the engine’s output in front of a human — grouped, compared to prior periods, with outliers surfaced — before anything hits the GL.

Done properly it is a control, not a bottleneck: reviewers see exceptions and variances, not every line.
